The human design gates of aries season
Aries is symbolized by the ram.
I've always felt energized at this time of year, and I feel it's because the sun "wakes up" my Aries ascendant (and my Aries moon a few days later).
As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries shakes off the existential Pisces vibes (been there, done that) and bursts into the world with fiery, initiating energy like a newborn baby's first cry of existence: "I'm here! Pay attention to me!"
Accordingly, Aries is all about itself--it embodies "I AM." With Aries, what you see is what you get. There is a purity, a directness, to its energy.
I've been thinking about Aries energy as I contemplate the second season finale of the Apple TV+ sci-fi workplace thriller, "Severance." I won't be spoiling anything about it here, but the show raises so many Aries themes about fresh starts, bodily autonomy, individual sovereignty, selfishness v. assertiveness, and internal and external conflicts.
The concept of "Severance" is intriguing. The idea is that certain employees at a mysterious company called Lumon undergo a brain procedure (note that Mars, the ruler of Aries, rules over surgery) to "sever" (also a Martian concept) their work selves (called "innies") from their non-work selves (called "outies"). The innies and the outies are not supposed to know anything about each other, and the innies themselves don't even know what they are working on during the day.
In fact, the innies are "born" on Lumon's severed floor with no knowledge of their outies and with little knowledge of the outside world--really, only what they need to know to be able to do their jobs. Because of the lack of outside influence and the fact that all they know is the severed floor, they begin with a kind of innocence and purity of character about them (Aries energy).
You may be wondering why anyone would voluntarily agree to do this (or, alternatively, you may be at a job where you wish you could do this!). While each outie has their own reason, the main character, Mark Scout, has chosen to undergo the severance procedure as a way of coping with his insurmountable grief over the death of his wife, Gemma. He figures that for at least 8 hours a day when his innie is at work, he (the outie) doesn't have to think about her.
As you can imagine, things get complicated, and the boundaries that were originally set up in this world are tested, leading to unexpected ethical and moral quandaries for the characters--and for the viewers!
Ultimately, the burning question throughout the show for each innie and outie is "Who am I?"
This question, as well as the Aries themes noted above, will be relevant for all of us on some level as we experience the upcoming Aries Solar Eclipse on March 29th, the ingress of Neptune into Aries a day later, and then the ingress of Saturn into Aries in May.
During Aries season, the sun is moving through the following human design gates:
Gate 25 (Innocence) in the Identity Center: You are a spiritual warrior with a gift for maintaining a child-like innocence in the face of adversity and initiating challenges that test you; as you gain wisdom from life’s initiating challenges and maintain your innocence throughout your journey, you enrich your spirit and the spirit of those around you.
Gate 17 (Solutions) in the Ajna Center - You have a gift for forming logical opinions that are based on your perception of patterns, structures, and frameworks. The purpose of your opinions is to predict future outcomes that are of service to the collective.
Gate 21 (Control) in the Will Center - You are motivated by a strong desire for material self-sufficiency and feel most fulfilled when you have control over your resources, including your finances, personal space, and daily choices in all areas of your life.
Gate 51 (Shock) in the Will Center - You are naturally competitive and are willing to take risks and test yourself to be the best or first at something. Your daring can be either foolhardy or courageous, and you can empower others by shocking them out of complacency and into a higher sense of purpose.
Gate 42 (Completion) in the Sacral Center - You have incredible staying power to see things through to the end and then to share what you learned from the experience with others. It is important for you to commit only to the things that are aligned with you since it can be difficult for you to extract yourself from situations once you have committed to them.
Gate 3 (Order) in the Sacral Center - You have a gift for bringing order and structure to chaos, and in this way you support Gate 60’s pressure to bring something new into the world. However, you are also subject to the on/off pulse of Gate 60 and need to wait for both right timing and for the right structures to be in place for lasting change to occur.
Note that both Gate 25 and Gate 3 are cusp gates. Gate 25 begins in Pisces and moves into Aries, while Gate 3 begins in Aries and moves into Taurus.
Are any of these gates defined (colored in) in your bodygraph? If so, you have consistent access to the energy of the defined gate(s), and you are broadcasting this energy to others through your very presence.
If these gates are undefined (white) in your bodygraph, then your experience of these gates is more fluid. You are temporarily taking in and amplifying the energy of undefined gates through your interactions with other people or through planetary transits that activate these gates for you.
Whatever is white in our bodygraph, whether it is a gate, channel, or energy center, is a potential area of growth and wisdom for us as we gain different perspectives on that energy throughout our life.
As a reminder, we each have all of the chart; what varies is our experience of the chart based on our specific placements.
