The human design gates of capricorn season
Capricorn is symbolized by the goat.
Ambitious. Disciplined. Hard-working.
Capricorn is not here to mess around. Ruled by Saturn, the lord of time, this sign is acutely aware of the precious nature of time, and it typically feels driven by an internal pressure to achieve its goals within a certain timeframe (whether real or imaginary).
Given its achievement-oriented nature, Capricorn excels at setting long-term goals and working methodically towards those goals, much like its symbol, the goat, climbs a mountain.
While Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius is known for its optimistic, pie-in-the-sky outlook, Capricorn is firmly grounded and has a realistic (if, at times, pessimistic) view of the world and recognizes the fact that certain limits and boundaries are valuable.
Accordingly, Capricorn can do well working within a structure, such as a company, an institution, or a government, and, over time, it tends to rise to the top.
In fact, because Capricorn often takes on responsibilities at a young age, it's naturally suited to leadership positions. Even so, one of its lessons is to learn to delegate and to let go of controlling every aspect of its work.
While its opposite sign, Cancer, is concerned with home, family, and emotional security, Capricorn is concerned with its public reputation and professional calling and legacy. As such, it requires challenging work that uplevels its competence and skills and helps it establish its reputation in society.
As one of the most hardworking signs, Capricorn has to guard against workaholic tendencies.
While pop astrology tends to emphasize the corporate CEO-type potential of this sign, I've met plenty of Capricorns who are artistic, spiritual, and who deeply love their plants (quite appropriate for this Earth sign).
In any case, work that requires minimal competence and is low-stakes is not going to motivate any Capricorn; this sign thrives when it's challenged to reach its next level of professional success in the material world.
Even if your Sun is not in Capricorn, if you have Capricorn placements (especially your Ascendant or Midheaven or your Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars), you may find yourself resonating with these Capricorn needs in your work.
During Capricorn season, the Sun is moving through the following human design gates:
Gate 10 (Self-Love) in the Identity Center - the more you love and accept yourself and what makes you unique, the more you empower others to love themselves as well.
Gate 58 (Joy) in the Root Center - you have a zest for life that drives you to improve things for the benefit of the collective and to challenge authority in order to bring more well-being and health to society;
Gate 38 (Fighter) in the Root Center – you're a natural born warrior, especially when your back is up against the wall or you're having to fight for your independence; you feel the pressure to find, or struggle for, purpose;
Gate 54 (Drive) in the Root Center - you feel the pressure to achieve material success and move up in the world, and, if you're noticed by someone of higher status, you're likely to rise in the hierarchy;
Gate 61 (Mystery) in the Head Center - you feel the mental pressure to know something new or unknowable and to understand the mysteries;
Gate 60 (Newness) in the Root Center - you feel the pressure to bring something new into the world; this pressure makes you feel restless, and you’ll be sensitive to any limitations you perceive.
Note that both Gate 10 and Gate 60 are cusp gates. Gate 10 begins in Sagittarius and moves into Capricorn, while Gate 60 begins in Capricorn and moves into Aquarius.
Are any of these gates defined (colored in) in your bodygraph? If so, you have consistent access to the energy of the defined gate(s), and you are impacting others with this energy through your very presence.
If these gates are open or undefined (white) in your bodygraph, then your experience of these gates is more fluid. You are temporarily taking in and amplifying the energy of any open or undefined gates through your interactions with other people and/or through planetary transits that activate these gates for you.
Whatever is white in our bodygraph, whether it is a gate, channel, or energy center, is a potential area of growth and wisdom for us as we gain different perspectives on that energy throughout our life.
As a reminder, we each have all of the chart; what varies is our experience of the chart based on our specific placements.
