The human design gates of leo season
Leo is symbolized by the lion.
Charismatic. Proud. Big-hearted. ♌
When Leo bursts onto the stage, it shines as brightly as its ruler, the Sun, effortlessly attracting the spotlight and delighting in being noticed and appreciated by an audience.
Leo’s self-expression is often creative and dramatic, and, ideally, Leo's career develops as a form of self-exploration that provides it with the opportunities to hone, and show off, its personal talents and skills.
A career that lacks creativity, recognition, and/or visibility does not suit Leo and will make it feel demoralized.
I remember a client with a Leo Moon who felt suffocated in a back-office job. The job was mundane, and she barely interacted with anyone. As a result, she felt isolated, bored, and completely unrecognized at work. In her personal life, her parents had encouraged her from a young age not to "outshine" her brother.
When I told her how important it was for her, and her work, to be seen and acknowledged by others, her eyes filled with tears. She had been trying for so long to push that part of herself down and to be who the people around her wanted her to be. She didn't want to be considered "selfish."
But Leo energy cannot be denied! It's here to be seen, honored, and celebrated. After all, it's the sign of royalty and the mighty lion.
And the truth is that when a Leo is embodying its authenticity, creativity, and boldness, it gives the rest of us permission to do the same.
Probably this is because Leo is also associated with our "inner child"--our sense of play and possibility. As children, we all had activities that absorbed us for hours and that brought us pure joy.
Leo season is the perfect time to check in on how often we are connecting to the people, places, and things that make us feel truly alive, especially during these trying times.
On a final note, Leo needs to feel pride and ownership in whatever it does. I know this from personal experience as I have Jupiter in Leo, and Leo rules my sixth house of daily work and rhythms.
Even if your Sun is not in Leo, if you have Leo placements (especially your Ascendant or Midheaven or your Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars), you may find yourself resonating with these Leo needs in your work.
During Leo season, the sun is moving through the following human design gates:
Gate 56 (Storyteller) in the Throat Center: the ability to inspire others' emotions through your stories and past experiences so that they can benefit from your wisdom
Gate 31 (Influence) in the Throat Center: the ability to influence others and be the voice of the people, especially when speaking of the future, so long as you are deeply attuned to the needs of your people
Gate 33 (Reflection) in the Throat Center: the ability to give voice to the past by taking time for yourself to reflect on memories (whether yours or others') and discern which stories are worth sharing for the collective good
Gate 7 (Guide) in the Identity Center: the ability to organize others and give them direction for the future and be invited into leadership while exerting power behind the scenes
Gate 4 (Understanding) in the Ajna Center: the ability to come up with answers that ease others' doubts and help others understand logical solutions; the more time you take to formulate your answers, the more impact and clarity they are likely to have
Gate 29 (Commitment) in the Sacral Cetner: the ability to commit to life and persevere, especially when you discover your passion and trust in your body's intuition; it's important to be discerning with your commitments
Note that both Gate 56 and Gate 29 are cusp gates. Gate 56 begins in Cancer and moves into Leo while Gate 29 begins in Leo and moves into Virgo.
Are any of these gates defined (colored in) in your bodygraph? If so, you have consistent access to the energy of the defined gate(s), and you are impacting others with this energy through your very presence.
If these gates are open or undefined (white) in your bodygraph, then your experience of these gates is more fluid. You are temporarily taking in and amplifying the energy of any open or undefined gates through your interactions with other people and/or through planetary transits that activate these gates for you.
Whatever is white in our bodygraph, whether it is a gate, channel, or energy center, is a potential area of growth and wisdom for us as we gain different perspectives on that energy throughout our life.
As a reminder, we each have all of the chart; what varies is our experience of the chart based on our specific placements.
