The human design gates of Scorpio season
Scorpio is symbolized by the scorpion.
Lovers of mystery and depth. Crisis management specialists. Passionate, obsessive investigators.
Given the autumnal backdrop of nature’s decay during Scorpio season in the northern hemisphere, Scorpio is intimately connected to the death and rebirth cycle.
Interestingly, even though Scorpio resists change as a fixed sign, it's ultimately driven by the need for evolution and transformation.
Because Scorpio is aware of the dark side of life, it's hypervigilant when it comes to real or perceived threats to its survival.
A positive aspect of this awareness is that Scorpio can easily hold space for others to explore their negative patterns and emotionally difficult experiences, which makes it well-suited to the therapeutic professions.
As a natural researcher and investigator, Scorpio can be single-minded, even obsessive, when it comes to getting an answer or uncovering a truth it suspects is being kept hidden.
Furthermore, with its resilient and resourceful nature, Scorpio is well-equipped to deal with crisis, near-death experiences, and dangerous or difficult situations or people.
Too much superficiality, changeability or micromanagement in a career does not suit Scorpio and will make it feel disconnected and resentful.
By contrast, Scorpio thrives in a career that allows it to focus, go deep, be in control, and deal with complexity.
Even if your Sun is not in Scorpio, if you have Scorpio placements (especially your Ascendant or Midheaven or your Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars), you may find yourself resonating with these Scorpio needs in your work.
During Scorpio season, the Sun is moving through the following human design gates:
Gate 50 (Values) in the Spleen Center – a natural guardian or challenger of values within a family, group, business, community and/or the collective; can intuitively sense who and what deserves caring; the fear of responsibility, or the fear of letting others down, can be found here.
Gate 28 (Risk-Taker) in the Spleen Center – the ability to sense what’s worth fighting for and what’s not and to find meaning in overcoming challenges; a willingness to push past obstacles in order to feel alive; the fear of death or of not finding one’s purpose can be found here.
Gate 44 (Alertness) in the Spleen Center – the ability to craft messages that entice others into believing you have something worthwhile that is new and improved; having an instinct for the gifts and capabilities of others; the fear of repeating the past can be found here.
Gate 1 (Self-Expression) in the Identity Center – naturally creative and can’t help but attract attention, especially when you’re “doing your own thing”; your creativity may point others in a new direction; when you create for the sake of creativity and without an agenda, you are more likely to be discovered.
Gate 43 (Breakthrough) in the Ajna Center – having a unique “inner voice” that helps one conceptualize and express one’s innovative thoughts and insights; wanting to learn things on your own rather than rely on what others teach; the fear of one’s ideas being rejected or considered too weird can be found here.
Gate 14 (Resources) in the Sacral Center - doing work that you love can generate wealth and power; you have a gift for attracting resources and have the skills, commitment, and drive to bring new, creative projects into the world.
Note that both Gate 50 and Gate 14 are cusp gates. Gate 50 begins in Libra and moves into Scorpio while Gate 14 begins in Scorpio and moves into Sagittarius.
Are any of these gates defined (colored in) in your bodygraph? If so, you have consistent access to the energy of the defined gate(s), and you are impacting others with this energy through your very presence.
If these gates are open or undefined (white) in your bodygraph, then your experience of these gates is more fluid. You are temporarily taking in and amplifying the energy of any open or undefined gates through your interactions with other people and/or through planetary transits that activate these gates for you.
Whatever is white in our bodygraph, whether it is a gate, channel, or energy center, is a potential area of growth and wisdom for us as we gain different perspectives on that energy throughout our life.
As a reminder, we each have all of the chart; what varies is our experience of the chart based on our specific placements.
