The human design gates of gemini season

Gemini is symbolized by the twins.

Natural wordsmiths. Lightning-quick thinkers. Boredom slayers.

These are some of the characteristics that come to my mind when I think of Gemini.

I've always admired (envied?) how those with Gemini influences can connect the dots in a nanosecond, come up with the most brilliant, witty turn of phrase on the spot, and be five steps ahead of everyone else (even if they're also trying to go in five different directions at the same time!).

As a mutable air sign, Gemini is a born communicator, and its restless, curious nature seeks variety in activities, experiences, and people.

Because it likes to be on the go (like its ruler, the fleet-footed messenger god Mercury), it likes to keep its options open.

In its career, too much rigidity or routine does not suit Gemini, nor does a lack of social interaction or mental stimulation.

A Gemini stuck in an office doing the same thing over and over again with no one to talk to is the human version of a wilting plant. Its days are numbered in that job.

In contrast, a Gemini who gets to use their imagination and insatiable drive to learn and share, who gets to call on their multi-faceted nature to work with stimulating people and ideas every day—that's a Gemini who will be firing on all cylinders.

Even if your Sun is not in Gemini, if you have other Gemini placements (especially your Ascendant or Midheaven or your Moon, Mercury, Venus, or Mars), you may find yourself resonating with these Gemini needs in your work.

During Gemini season, the sun is moving through the following human design gates:

  • Gate 3 (Order) in the Sacral Center - You have a gift for bringing order and structure to chaos; because your energy works on an on/off pulse, it benefits you to wait for both right timing and for the right structures to be in place so that lasting change can occur.

  • Gate 27 (Nourishment) in the Sacral Center - You are a deeply compassionate person who takes care of and protects others, especially the most vulnerable; the lesson for you is to care without over-caring at the expense of your well-being.

  • Gate 24 (Insight) in the Ajna - Your mind tends to go over things again and again in an attempt to rationalize them; this is a mental process of constant rewind and review with sudden bursts of insight that drop in.

  • Gate 2 (Vision) in the Identity Center – You are a natural visionary who can give direction to others toward the resources they need to support their creative endeavors; by aligning with your vision for yourself, you empower and inspire others to follow their own sense of direction.

  • Gate 23 (Simplicity) in the Throat Center - With your unique and transformative insights, you have a gift for initiating others into new ways of thinking. In order for your genius to be recognized, it’s important for you to communicate what you truly know in simple, clear terms to the right people and at the right time.

  • Gate 8 (Attention) in the Throat Center - You have a gift for drawing people’s attention to something new and innovative, whether it is your own individual lifestyle, direction or creations or the creativity of others; this works best when you are first recognized and invited to share.

Note that both Gate 3 and Gate 8 are cusp gates. Gate 3 begins in Aries and moves into Taurus while Gate 8 begins in Taurus and moves into Gemini.

Are any of these gates defined (colored in) in your bodygraph?  If so, you have consistent access to the energy of the defined gate(s), and you are impacting others with this energy through your very presence.

If these gates are open or undefined (white) in your bodygraph, then your experience of these gates is more fluid. You are temporarily taking in and amplifying the energy of any open or undefined gates through your interactions with other people and/or through planetary transits that activate these gates for you.

Whatever is white in our bodygraph, whether it is a gate, channel, or energy center, is a potential area of growth and wisdom for us as we gain different perspectives on that energy throughout our life.

As a reminder, we each have all of the chart; what varies is our experience of the chart based on our specific placements.
